Description: Parking and mobility professionals often follow a familiar path: starting in public service and then transitioning to private sector roles later in their careers. But what about those who swim upstream transitioning from private sector parking and mobility programs to public service? Or, who started in public service, went private, and then back to public service?

In this insightful session, Dana Klien and Vanessa Solesbee, both experienced parking and mobility professionals who have made the move from the private to the public sector at the Town of Estes Park, Colorado, most recently, and will explore the unique challenges and rewards of the less conventional career path. Join us and learn why some parking and mobility professionals are choosing the road less traveled—moving from private to public service, and perhaps back again.

They’ll discuss:

·      Why Professionals Choose the Shift: What drives individuals to move from private sector work to public service in the world of parking and mobility?

·      The Benefits of Working in the Public Sector: Gain insight into the opportunity to make a direct impact on the community and shape policy.

·      The Challenges Faced in Public Sector Roles: Learn about the complexities of working within government frameworks, from regulations to budget constraints.

·      Cross-Sector Skills Transfer: Discover how private sector experience brings a fresh perspective to public mobility solutions.

This panel discussion will offer a rare look at the evolving landscape of parking and mobility from two professionals who have successfully navigated both sectors. Whether you're currently in the public or private sector, you won't want to miss the chance to understand the dynamics of each sector and how they influence one another.
