Volunteer Position: PIPTA Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Organization: Pacific Intermountain Parking and Transportation Association (PIPTA)
Location: Remote/Hybrid
Commitment: Estimated 5-10 hours per month (varies based on events and initiatives)
Reports to: PIPTA Executive Board

Position Overview

2025 marks PIPTA’s 20th Anniversary – The Emerald Year! We are seeking a volunteer Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our communications and branding strategy throughout this milestone year and beyond. The CMO will develop and execute marketing campaigns, digital engagement, and event promotion to enhance membership value, drive event attendance, and amplify PIPTA’s influence in the parking, mobility, and transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications & Branding

  • Develop and implement a 2025 Communications Plan, aligning with the Emerald Year theme.

  • Oversee PIPTA’s branding and messaging consistency across digital, print, and event materials.

  • Collaborate with designers and vendors for conference branding (logos, templates, marketing materials).

Content Creation & Digital Marketing

  • Manage and schedule quarterly newsletters (January, May, August, November).

  • Coordinate social media campaigns, email communications, and website updates for key initiatives:

    • Membership Campaign (January)

    • Conference Promotion (theme, registrations, speaker spotlights, special events)

    • Parking & Mobility Pulse (PMP) virtual events

    • In-person PIPTA events (announcements, reminders, recaps)

Event & Conference Marketing

  • Promote PIPTA’s annual conference (Eugene, OR – Emerald City) through targeted campaigns.

  • Oversee marketing for PMP virtual sessions and in-person events (emails, socials, newsletters).

  • Ensure CAPP credit is highlighted in all applicable event promotions.

  • Coordinate with the team on event collateral, signage, and branding consistency.

Membership & Community Engagement

  • Enhance member engagement through spotlights, testimonials, and targeted outreach.

  • Work with the Membership Committee to promote the 2025 Membership Campaign.

  • Explore opportunities for LinkedIn engagement and other professional networking touchpoints.

  • Collaborate on potential direct mail or personalized outreach to members.

Marketing Operations & Coordination

  • Maintain and expand PIPTA’s Canva library for marketing materials.

  • Utilize PIPTA’s email platform to develop and distribute professional communications.

  • Coordinate marketing needs and timelines for 2026 Board Elections with PIPTA Secretary.

  • Track marketing performance and refine strategies for maximum engagement and impact.

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, communications, branding, or public relations (preferably in transportation, parking, or mobility industries).

  • Strong skills in content creation, email marketing, social media, and event promotion.

  • Familiarity with Canva, Cvent, email marketing platforms, and digital communication tools.

  • Ability to collaborate with committees, board members, and external vendors.

  • Passion for, or willingness to learn, parking, mobility, and transportation solutions in the Pacific Intermountain region.
